Berget AI compared Kimi K3 requests on identical B300 hardware using an open calculation method developed with SEI and other partners. For an example with 5,000 input and 387 output tokens using about 4 Wh, emissions including hardware manufacturing were 0.38 g CO₂e in Sweden and 3.2 g in Texas, roughly an 8.5-fold difference. Average regional grid intensity and cooling conditions affect the result. Code and assumptions are public, but training emissions are excluded, and using marginal emissions to assess additional demand could substantially change Sweden’s estimate.
