Anthropic says Auto Mode will become the default next week for new sessions in most Claude apps used by Pro, Max, and Team customers. It automatically checks tool actions, allows those judged safe, and blocks risky ones, requesting approval when needed. Enterprise administrators will receive advance notice. In the coding experiment cited as evidence, people blocked 13.6% of dangerous commands compared with 89% for Auto Mode, but those figures do not establish the same performance across general-purpose apps. Major production changes still warrant separate review.
