Deepgram has acquired Daily, which builds real-time audio and video infrastructure and the Pipecat voice-agent framework. Financial terms were not disclosed. The company says Pipecat will remain open source and continue connecting multiple model providers. The deal brings orchestration across speech recognition, language models and speech synthesis closer to the communications layer. An accompanying RCS proposal means Real-Time Context Standard, intended to carry information such as intonation and response context; it is unrelated to the mobile-messaging RCS protocol. Its announcement does not establish industry-wide adoption or independently verify the long-term neutrality commitment.
