Fortinet announced FortiGuard Inline AI Security Service for FortiGate customers. Beyond identifying AI use and applying data-loss-prevention rules, the cloud service inspects prompts, responses and MCP tool communications and can mask sensitive data. FortiAIGate provides role-based policies, usage and spending limits, and agent activity records between applications and models, with a self-hosted option. Organizations should check processing routes and log-retention policies because cloud inspection and self-hosting have different data boundaries. The announcement is not independent proof that every prompt attack will be stopped.
