Google Cloud is offering Gemini Robotics ER 2 in public preview for enterprises to test workflows using robot video, audio and text. The model evaluates progress and success and calls VLA models or hardware APIs as tools, while lower-level systems handle detailed motion control. Google reports 91.3% accuracy on an important-moment identification evaluation, not a guarantee across all operating environments. Public preview must be distinguished from validated field deployment, with hardware, latency and safety requirements assessed for each robot.
