On September 24, Aachen Regional Court prohibited dissemination of three types of false statements that Google AI Mode generated by confusing a doctor with another person’s case. Citing a Munich court’s reasoning that AI combines sources into independent statements, it noted possible sanctions of up to €250,000 per violation. The Munich appeal ended in settlement without a higher-court ruling, and the Aachen decision can also be challenged. The case reflects a trend toward holding providers responsible for generated results, but does not establish compensation for every answer or a general duty to pay publishers.

Aachen court bars dissemination of false statements generated by Google AI
The ruling again treats AI search output as the provider's own statements, but is not a final higher-court rule for all generative search.
