In an October 15 developer update, OpenAI said GPT-Live can call the Decisions API directly without an application relay. It can trigger calls upon recognizing a particular request or make decisions while user speech and AI responses are being converted to text. Potential uses include changing vehicle settings or reacting through a character’s expression before a conversation finishes. Decisions is a separate beta whose pricing and terms require checking; this announcement does not mean a new voice feature has launched for general ChatGPT users.
