A user compared One UI 9’s Network Guard with AdGuard Private DNS. Network Guard blocked an app’s Wi-Fi and mobile-data traffic entirely, removing ads from an offline Sudoku game and QR tool but preventing AccuWeather from fetching information. DNS filtering preserved online functionality by blocking domains selectively, though some full-screen ads remained. Blocking other apps does not remove web ads while the browser retains network access. The personal test covered three apps and one site, so it illustrates trade-offs rather than proving a universal ad-blocking rate.
