Sweden’s Government Offices are restricting direct access to ChatGPT and Claude on staff computers to encourage approved AI services. Reporting citing Ekot attributes the decision to information-security risks from services used without agreements; Microsoft Copilot remains approved after additional security measures. Some staff reportedly retain access to the models through an internal AI platform. The Tax Agency and the National Board of Institutional Care have introduced similar restrictions. This should not be interpreted as a nationwide ban on public access or as a copyright-based prohibition.
