TalkShield 1.2.0 is an independently developed Windows utility that hides desktop KakaoTalk banners, lock-screen ads and popups in the older client while reclaiming their space. It supports the new beta client’s window layout; its documentation describes manipulating ad windows and screen regions rather than injecting code. Source is available under MIT, and exiting restores the windows. The introduction’s roughly 43KB figure refers to the compressed download, with memory use listed at 5–8MB. It is not an official Kakao feature, and client layout updates can change compatibility.
