Tines’ 3B design discards each step’s Linux sandbox while retaining files such as Git repositories and SQLite databases in versioned volumes. Nest provides local file access, and the Rust storage engine Spongeblob manages immutable snapshots, atomically publishing changes from successful steps and discarding failed runs. Concurrent edits to different files are reapplied, but edits to the same file conflict, and branches are not automatically merged. Official product documentation also specifies step isolation and credential proxying. The durability of fsync during execution differs from final publication, so the system should not be treated as an ordinary shared folder.

Only successful steps publish changes; concurrent edits to the same file are conflicts.
