Microsoft open-sourced Agensh on October 24, enabling up to 1,024 agents to claim, verify and integrate work asynchronously. Shared workspaces, messages and context support cooperation without a central orchestrator. In a six-hour Pandoc reconstruction evaluation using GPT-5.6-sol, the test-pass rate rose from 33.89% with one agent to 55.06% with 1,024. That compares a fixed time budget, not equal compute spending. The release includes a Docker Compose single-node team setup and reproduction guidance; benefits for general software work still need separate evaluation.

Decentralized coordination improved results on constrained reconstruction tasks, but the evaluation does not establish cost efficiency or universal benefits.
