16colo.rs preserves ANSI and ASCII artpacks rooted in the BBS culture of the 1990s and makes them viewable on the web. Its official FAQ explains conversion that accounts for historical screen aspect ratios, searches across filenames, artwork text and SAUCE metadata, self-publishing, and FTP and rsync mirroring. It collects contemporary work as well as historical material, but copyright remains with each artist. Linking and preservation features can be used while reuse of an artwork for another purpose still requires checking permission with its creator.

16colo.rs preserves ANSI and ASCII artwork from the BBS era
Search and mirroring support preservation, but a public archive does not grant permission to reuse individual artworks.
