Apple is accepting Security Research Device applications through October 30. The specially configured iPhone provides shell access, custom entitlements and kernel modification so researchers can study iOS without first bypassing its security features. Approved applicants receive a renewable 12-month loan; South Korea is eligible, and applicants are assessed for requirements including a security-research track record. Apple Pay and third-party apps are excluded, and the device must remain in approved premises for research. Discovered vulnerabilities are considered for rewards, but separate criteria such as a complete, reproducible report still apply.
