Microsoft returned App-V Server, whose support ended in April, to extended support under its Fixed Lifecycle Policy and set a new end date of October 9, 2029. The App-V client included in Windows 11 remains supported, distinguishing its status from the server’s. The company says the change gives organizations with large application estates and complex migration requirements more time, while recommending Azure Virtual Desktop App Attach and MSIX as long-term alternatives. This is a support adjustment for operational continuity and migration planning, not a full restart of feature development.
