Russian researcher Anatoli Bugorski survived a 1978 accident in which a proton beam passed through his head while he was checking accelerator equipment. The retrospective article and a 1997 report describe lasting effects including left facial paralysis, hearing damage and seizures, although he continued his scientific work. Descriptions of one side appearing younger concern the appearance of a paralyzed face. This recirculated historical case is not a new treatment study or evidence that radiation stops biological aging. His survival must be understood alongside serious long-term injuries.

Reports of an unevenly aged face describe a paralyzed side, not evidence that radiation prevents biological aging.
