Daishin Securities says an investigation into abnormal access to an online account-opening integration server confirmed exposure of 38,490 customers’ personal credit information. Eight categories were involved, including names, email addresses and addresses; the company says relevant account numbers and mobile numbers were encrypted. It has not identified intrusion into core business systems or secondary harm so far. Affected customers will receive individual notices, and controls on external integration systems are being strengthened. Encryption of some fields does not establish that the entire incident is harmless.
