datasette-ports 0.4 displays process IDs along with the ports and URLs of locally running Datasette instances. It also improves compatibility with recent Datasette 1.0 alpha releases. Simon Willison described using those PIDs with Python 3.15’s profiling of running processes. The change reduces the effort of locating the right target among multiple development servers. It does not expose new network ports or automatically discover remote servers, and actual profiling still depends on the Python tool’s execution requirements.

It simplifies finding local Datasette instances for profiling; it is not a remote-access feature.
