TechCrunch reports that Disney agreed to bring over a majority of Character.AI’s workforce by offering jobs to at least 60 employees during the company’s bankruptcy proceedings. Most accepted, clarifying the scale of staff transfers separately from the previously reported asset purchase. However, that asset deal is an initial benchmark bid in the bankruptcy process, leaving the possibility of a higher offer. Hiring progress should not be interpreted as guaranteeing the continuation of the entire Character.AI service or completion of the final acquisition.
