ARRL reported that eBay tightened FCC ID requirements for US listings of radio equipment subject to certification from October 13. Equipment operating only in amateur-radio bands is exempt, but VHF and UHF equipment able to transmit elsewhere and some commercial amplifiers require separate checks. eBay guidance says model or serial numbers do not replace an FCC ID and noncompliant listings may be hidden from US buyers. This changes platform enforcement, not federal certification obligations for every radio device.
