Google’s Play services v26.40 release notes announce receipt scanning for Wallet on phones, improved merchant names in transaction notifications, and an in-app message center. Google Pay in Chrome for Android can also skip the Payment Request screen when providing a name, email address, and phone number to a merchant. That last change does not mean all payment authentication is bypassed. The official notice does not specify regional coverage or rollout timing for every account.
