The Löffelholz Codex project presents a manuscript begun in 1505 through original scans, transcription and modern explanations of tools and machines. Engineer Dirk Schornstein distinguishes reviewed pages from unreviewed ones across its 154 pages and labels AI-generated drafts that still need checking. A scholarly catalogue dates the manuscript to 1505–1533 and describes designs including drills, vises and rotating chairs. The project improves access to an existing historical source rather than announcing newly discovered inventions or treating uncertain interpretations as settled.
