A resurfaced report on the 2024 M4 iPad Pro teardown discusses the possibility that an 8GB model contains two memory packages nominally totaling 12GB. iFixit’s chip-identification page lists a Micron 6GB part, but that alone does not establish active capacity or Apple’s design intent. Apple’s specifications still list 8GB of RAM for the 256GB and 512GB models. This is an older teardown observation about the distinction between physical components and usable specifications, not a new product announcement or unlocked memory.

The resurfaced 2024 report does not change Apple's published 8GB specification for lower-storage models.
