Microsoft has announced MAI-Image-2.7 in preview for image editing, emphasizing control over scene style, lighting, text and symbols, and image restoration. At announcement, the company reported third place on Arena Edit and second on Artificial Analysis’s editing evaluation, with improvements over its predecessor across ten evaluated use cases and seven editing actions. Those are results from particular evaluations at a particular time, not proof of consistent superiority on every image or against every competing model.
