According to foreign reporting relayed by DigitalToday, Microsoft withdrew from an agreement for Nscale’s repeatedly delayed Loughton data center in the UK. The possibility that grid connection could slip into the 2030s was cited as a central factor. Nscale said its long-term Microsoft relationship and other agreements were unaffected and that it was exploring alternative power arrangements. The case should therefore be read as a particular site’s power and scheduling risk, not Microsoft’s withdrawal from all AI investment or termination of every partnership.
