A discussion around NeXT office photographs recalls in-person collaboration and shared goals at early technology companies. Participants describe building new hardware and software together while also acknowledging that past office life can be romanticized. Separate historical material describes both NeXT’s lavish offices and criticism of them. The photographs do not establish every employee’s experience or prove that in-person work is more productive.
