Apple has confirmed that the first-generation HomePod mini will not receive the new Siri AI. An outlet that previously reported support for the existing model has corrected its story; within the HomePod mini family, the new second generation is eligible. Separate requirements identify Apple TV 4K support from the second generation onward. The development is an official correction about upgrade eligibility for the older compact speaker, not the product announcement itself. Lack of the new AI feature does not mean the speaker’s existing functions are being discontinued.
