Pico CSS, a minimal framework for semantic HTML, has made 2.1.1 its final release, archived its repositories and stopped accepting new issues, pull requests and releases. The maintainer says adapting to AI-generated HTML/CSS and modern CSS features would require a rewrite amounting to a different project. npm, the jsDelivr CDN and the website are intended to remain available, so existing installations do not immediately stop working. The code can be forked under MIT, but the official notice excludes the Pico CSS name and logo from that license. Users considering a fork should verify its maintainer and distinct branding.
