Chris Wellons has released Prospero, a coding harness built with C++ and Dear ImGui. It connects to local or external models and supports subagents, remote execution over SSH and visual GUI testing. Long-running shell commands become asynchronous jobs, stopping a command cleans up its process tree, and idle windows avoid continuous rendering. Users must configure a model provider and cannot connect a Claude subscription. The free edition has limited bundled remote engines, while the paid edition includes them. The developer explicitly warns that permission prompts do not isolate a malicious agent.
