Windows Latest demonstrated finding an Android app by name in Windows 11 Search and opening it from a connected Galaxy phone in the Experimental channel. The app runs on the phone while Phone Link mirrors its screen on the PC; this does not revive the retired Windows Subsystem for Android. The outlet tested a Surface and Galaxy A26 combination. Microsoft’s latest notes confirm calling, texting and Do Not Disturb actions, but do not separately document launching phone apps from Search. Supported-phone and network requirements still apply, and a gradual Insider rollout does not establish availability on every Windows PC.
