The Korean Medical Association has warned against exaggerated promotion and use of chelation injections for fatigue relief or anti-aging. Evidence for those benefits is insufficient, while adverse effects such as kidney injury make assessment of the patient’s condition and medical need essential. It also criticized using drugs to alter test results or evade workplace rules instead of improving hazardous exposure conditions. Decisions about an injection should rest on its actual indication, expected benefit and risks discussed with a clinician, not the appeal of the word detox.
