Ahead of British Columbia and Manitoba in Canada adopting permanent daylight saving time, Google has outlined how to address Android time zone errors. It first recommends installing pending manufacturer and Google updates and restarting the device. If the time is still wrong, users should enable automatic and location-based time zone settings. If that does not resolve it, they can manually select a time zone with the correct UTC offset for their region. Rules vary within Canada, so one setting should not be applied nationwide. Because schedules and alerts can also be affected, devices in the relevant regions should be checked against the actual local time.
