Image Playground in iOS 27 strengthens natural-language style selection and editing of selected areas in generated images. Users can tap a door, person, or another element and request changes to its color or position, and can create Lock Screen backgrounds and Contact Posters. The features require Apple Intelligence-compatible hardware, including the iPhone 15 Pro family, iPhone 16 and later, M1-or-newer iPads and Macs, and the A17 Pro iPad mini. This is not an update that delivers identical functionality to every existing device.
