Apple marked Multipeer Connectivity deprecated in Xcode 27 and platform versions 27.0, recommending migration to the Network framework. This changes future maintenance direction rather than removing the framework immediately. Network supports nearby Wi-Fi with separate enablement, but lacks direct equivalents for the existing discovery UI and whole-file transfer, requiring implementation changes. Migration is also an opportunity to review TLS security, connection architecture, and identifier-tracking risks. Sending files in chunks requires flow control as well.

Apple deprecates Multipeer Connectivity and recommends Network migration
Existing apps do not immediately stop working, but discovery, connection security, and file transfer need redesign around Network.
