An Android Police writer reports that GPS coordinates remained in a Gmail draft after sharing a photo from Samsung Gallery, although the sent attachment had them removed. The case distinguishes the photo picker’s protections from the gallery’s share workflow. In the tested gallery, location sharing was enabled by default and reset each time, requiring a check before sharing. Removal before final delivery does not mean the receiving app never obtained the data. This was a test of specific applications, not proof that all Android apps behave identically.
