eMudhra’s board decided to exit the global SSL/TLS certificate business. The company said the business accounted for about 1% of revenue and that its other digital signature and PKI businesses would continue. During the transition, it plans to maintain the G1 RSA hierarchy, help existing customers obtain replacement certificates through partners, and provide certificate status and revocation information until certificates expire or are replaced. It did not give a firm date for the complete shutdown. Regarding the weak-key issue in an ECC intermediate certificate authority announced a day earlier, the company said there had been no infrastructure compromise or customer data breach.

Existing customers should check replacement support and certificate status services separately during the transition.
