Google Meet is expanding speech translation based on Gemini 3.5 Live Translate to 63 languages on the web, Android and iOS. Instead of setting one language pair for the whole meeting, it detects speech automatically, translates it into each participant’s chosen language and adjusts captions accordingly. External guests can use it in meetings hosted by someone on an eligible plan, but the basic eligible plans have a 90-minute limit per meeting, while higher plans allow 8 hours. Recordings, live streams and client-side encrypted meetings are among the exclusions. Rapid Release rollout starts on October 22, with Scheduled Release starting on November 2.
