Tesla said it plans to extend the end of Austin Robotaxi service from midnight to 2 a.m. and expand to 24-hour service by year-end. At the time, service operated from 6 a.m. to midnight. Management also described software work needed to expand operating conditions, including weather and highways. Longer service hours and permission for unsupervised driving in customer-owned vehicles are separate matters. This was an expansion target, not an announcement that rides were available all night in every city or that all relevant regulatory requirements had been resolved.
